Posté le: Mer 13 Déc - 13:25 (2017) Sujet du message: Triumph Tiger 800XC fuel economy
Short back story is that I found a great deal on a Tiger 800XC and love the bike. Commuting and joy riding the hills of Central Texas is a blast on this bike. My great deal wasn't as great as I originally thought when it became apparent the previous owner had not maintained the bike. Now we have caught up on maintenance and according to the dealer it is perfect. My concern is twofold; the bike runs quite rich, with a heavy fuel smell in the exhaust all the time and the fuel economy simply never gets better than 35 mpg regardless of what I do or how I ride.
I don't ride strictly for economy and have no desire to be an eco-rider when on a fun bike like this. However, it seems that an afternoon on the highway at 65 - 70 mph on an 800cc adventure bike like this should offer better fuel economy than this.
How do I go about finding a tuner or re-flash other than the local dealer? I'm not convinced they know what they are doing with this bike.
I didn't find the right solution from the internet. References:https://forums.starcitizenbase.com/topic/
